Megachan.net Imageboards

Yep, I brought back the adult boards! They’re over here now. I’m still working on various things, like an improved thumbnail viewer and other crap, but the boards work, so get posting already!

As some of you may of noticed, MC is now running the latest version of Kusaba (1.0.4). In addition, due to a fuck up that occurred while trying to fix an accidental auto-ban, I’ve been forced to redo all the Apache redirections, bans, etc. I’ve removed a lot of old and useless crap, and in doing so I’ve fixed all those bizarre 403 errors people have been getting (especially those browsing via Overchan v2. While doing all of that, I decided to fix a lot of smaller issues that I was procrastinating about. As such, all boards except for /sand/ are now featured in the Random Image Viewer, over at the boards homepage. There were some other tweaks here and there, but I’m not going to go into them. Anyway, here are some of the more important announcements:

Finally got around to announcing it, but the IRC channel has been moved to irc.rizon.net #megachan, due to DALnet’s general faggotry and random klines. So, drop on by and idle like the rest of us :p

With Fallout 3 coming out later this year (I hope), I’ve been playing the Fallout series of games, probably the best post-nuclear simulator made so far. Currently, I’m playing Fallout Tactics, and am merrily blowing away Raider scum with MP5s and an AK-47 (the prefered weapon choice for many post-nuclear survivors).

Yep, Yuravian went ahead and registered one on irc.dal.net, cleverly called #megachan. While he considers is a ‘preliminary’ one, I don’t see why it can’t be the official one. So, until I state others. It shall be the official Megachan IRC channel

Yesterday the MySQL database was taken offline temporarily by my host so it can be hardened - some dick was trying to be all cyberpunk and gain access to other databases on the server.

Anyway, I’ve been assured that the problem has been resolved, however there may be intermittent downtime to stop anymore problems.

Yep, Megachan is a year old now. Well, a year and 6 days. And it’s come a long way.

When I started this site I didn’t think it’d come as far as it did. I actually thought that the site would be a lot quiter than it is. And while the boards are generally quiet, the site sees quite a lot of traffic per day. I may do a blog post on it, if anyone’s interested in webstats and stuff like that, lol. Also, I’ve got a rudimentary FAQ up (and suggestions would be helpful), and there’s a new board called Sandbox, which is solely for people (especially people new to imageboards) to mess around with to learn how imageboards work. No overall theme, no rules other than keeping things Safe For Work - it’s just there for people to learn/experiment

Anyway, on with that I want to do with this site…
