Kusaba is Dead - Here are the Installation Files
Several people have noticed that kusaba.org is dead - the domain is parked by Godaddy. For those in the dark, Kusaba is the insanely popular imageboard script coded by Tee - it was the result of his efforts coding Kusaba that caused the explosion of *chan sites on the net (and well as the cries of “Goddammit, Tee!” when something went wrong).
So, what happened to Kusaba? Simple: Tee isn’t carrying on with Kusaba, and thus didn’t want to containing paying for the website. He is currently working on a Python-based imageboard script, called PyIB, which is significantly faster than Kusaba due to it’s multi-threading abilities. The only catch is that it will probably be a bitch to install as you’ll most likely have to do it manually - there aren’t many shared hosting plans that support it, especially with the bandwidth needed to support a *chan site.
However, while the Kusaba project is pretty much dead, I don’t see a reason for that stopping people from using it. As such, here are the last installation and upgrade files:
Installation guides as well as other useful stuff can be found here:

Several people have decided to pick up development - these are the forks that I’m aware of:

Kusaba is no longer maintained….
Kusaba (a.k.a. Trevorchan) was a script I used to create 4-chan style imageboards. It was also used by the hosts of 7chan and by a great multitude of wannabe *chan sites. In any case, the Kusaba project has been discontinued at version 1.04.

Python threads won’t make it any faster. Python uses lightweight threads, it can’t really run two threads simultaneously,

@Nobocy,
“Regeneration of front pages and thread /res/ pages are carried out asynchronously
The regeneration system was rewrote to be thread-safe and now uses a pool to carry out as many regeneration requests at the same time as fast as possible
With a test of 10 boards, this has caused a speedup of 7 to 8 times (I.E., it’s damn fast)”

Also, you can multi-thread in Python.
