Ok, most webcomics are shite - we all know that. However, now and then something comes along that is worth paying attention to. What out there do you read? Anyone that links to CAD can deal with the consequences.
The only thing I follow at the moment is Supermutant Magic Academy, which doesn't have too cohesive a storyline, but just touches on characters that you get to know over time, with lots of one-shots as well. It's annoying to go back and read because it's published on tumblr though; http://mutantmagic.com/
QC is still good...
CAD is control alt delete. It's...vilified, because the author is a fucking douchenozel.
Ohhhhhhhh, OK. Thank you. Yeah, I've read ctrl-alt-delete once and I did not like it.
It's dreadful, isn't it? But then again, video game webcomics are perhaps the nadir of Western civilisation.
Hey /disc/ I need some advice.
I like this girl, shes mildly attractive, and she is VERY funny. I love her, we eat breakfast together every day, and we are going to start hanging out soon.
Here's my apex, I want to start a relationship; but I do NOT know what to say, any Girls here?
HELP! thanks :D
(her in picture)
(sorry for TL;DR)
I can see you samefagging
Ummm, err, since the original poster's question has long since been answered, and his his situation long since resolved, can this thread be locked, so that it can gracefully sink into oblivion and not keep getting bumped?
weird, weird, weird... I had a dream last week that I was on the outskirts of WDW in a part of the property that was in the initial stages of development. That pic is eerily similar in a way except that in my dream we were on dry land. Why I would dream of that, I have no idea. I was only there once, like 25 years ago or something.
so this seems like it might be a real company
It's not a terrible idea; sell white-label products with your own upmarket branding. They just seem to be failing on the "upmarket branding" part.
To be honest, that's pretty much what a lot of brands do to a degree. Ryce mentioned Lynx/Axe - that shit is vile, but they have the money to put behind huge campaigns (perhaps not the same type of upmarket as this is going for, but fair more respected than it should be...)
Well, the movie thread has been pretty successful these past months and I've discovered quite a few gems through it, so why not a TV thread? I didn't bother much with TV for most of my adult life so I've got some catching up to do. Actually, I don't watch TV per se, just download whole seasons of shows and watch them on the PC.
I've currently been sucked into Space: Above and Beyond. The acting is sorta crappy but the combat scenes are surprisingly good, by TV standards anyway. It's reminding me a lot of the movie version of Starship Troopers for a number of reasons, though the show predates the movie by a couple of years.
So what are your favorite shows, megachanners? I'm gonna samefag a little here in a minute as soon as I find the pics I'm looking for...
...you are a horrible human being.
holy fuck, I did it... I finished all ten "official" seasons of MST3K, there's just a few more episodes of season zero I haven't got around to yet. I started last June or July, it took that long.
I feel obliged to make a list of the best ones here but going back over the titles I realize I was mostly drunk the whole time and can't remember which one is which now. Generally, the space adventure flicks and post-apoc ones are OK and there are a few bronze age adventures where there are people on a sea voyage, those are fun too. Anything featuring a man in a rubber monster suit or close ups of insects or animals as giant monsters is generally pretty laughable. And any episode featuring Santa Claus is usually entertaining. These were some standouts though:
Sidehackers - actually fairly watchable on its own, if a little retarded
Fire Maidens Of Outer Space - guest starring Crow's evil twin
Manos The Hands of Fate - widely acknowledged as the worst movie ever made, the writers of MST3K referenced this one for many episodes to come.
Giant Spider Invasion - possibly the funniest heckling job out of the whole series. "Packers win the Superbowl!"
Godzilla vs. Megalon - fucking hilarious... four giant monsters in a tag team death match. Not the most serious movie in the first place.
The Rebel Set - an old b+w crime caper with some beatniks. I actually enjoyed this one, which was the first clue that I was spending too much time immersed in these shitty movies.
Message too long. Click here to view the full text.
Locking the thread cause it's stopped bumping and I made a new one here: http://www.megachan.net/disc/res/5045.html
Feel free to copy/paste this post into the new one, this thread'll be drifting into the bowels of Megachan soon.
Post projects, ask questions, post links, tips, tricks, and discuss DIY topics of any kind.
>pic is me soldering a larger pig-tail antenna, made from standard electrical house wire, onto a smaller wi-fi antenna.
Speaking of the sounds system, seems it doesn't have an 8-track. Just LP, radio, and cassette. It's caps are massive. 75v 8200uF. Massive transistors with massive heatsinks and a honking XBOX HEUG transformer hiding in the upper right of the pic; it is bigger than my fist. Everything is massive actually; note the magic marker as reference. The marker is 5" x 3/4". I'll need to break out the solder wick on this one I think, I don't have much left though.
Those old caps only have so long to live, but could come in handy while they survive.
Picking through the backpages of /disc/ because I'm bored, I rediscovered this thread. Sort of on the lo-tech side compared to the rest of your projects but my housemates built a sauna recently. It was framed with 2x4's and the walls are made from wood slabs with a plastic vapour barrier in between to hold the steam in. The roof is a corrugated tin roof from a shed and the flooring is some slabs of slate that my roommate had lying around for no apparent reason. It's heated by a wood stove. I didn't have much to do with it, but helped nailing up the walls.
I was skeptical at first because it seemed a bit large inside, a lot of volume in there to heat up, but it works fine. Takes a few hours to get toasty but it's well worth the effort. I'd post some better pics but it's dark out now. You can feel the odd draft in there but it'll do for summertime... it will need some more work before next winter though.
I went back about 5 pages and didn't see one through all the dust and cobwebs of those ancient threads.
Post what you've watched recently and how it was.
Yeah, I saw that years ago at the wasting time after Rocky Horror rehearsal.
It was okay.
I guess it seems a lot cooler if you saw it when you were a kid.
and this thread has surpassed its bump limit... goin' down!
Well I'm not going down with it...
(Will lock this and start a new one w/ link to here in the new thread)
Hey space nerds... did you see Venus and Jupiter together in the sky last night or tonight? It's pretty awesome. They are gazing through my window together right now. It's a bit cloudy and there aren't many stars to see but they are shining through somehow. I just had to tell someone.
If you're on the right part of the planet when you see this thread and the sky is clear, go outside and look.
pic not related
Saw it last night. Was kind of impressed. Didn't realize what I was looking at, at first. "Gee, those two stars are bright, and I usualy can't see stars with the light pollution around here."
>meet Chuck Norris in a bar
>he asks you to buy him a drink (nohomo)
>what do you buy him
Chuck, my man, how much money do you make? Now, here's what I make, or, rather, *don't* make. So, based on that, you can buy me the drink, OK?
I fucking love you guys.
So he's backing the chubby philanderer over the stiff Ivy League asshole, the anti-contraception anti-pornography anti-fun idealist, the nutjob with the dickhead fanbase, and especially the fuck-up incumbent who knows nothing about the real world outside of Chicago-style politics? OH NOES.
A beer on me.
(And yes, I meant "chubby philanderer" in a good way.)
Is... is this art?
That's every chihuahua i've ever seen. Male or female...
