Some nice photos that make good walls. Aokigahara or Jukai (lit. 'the Sea of Trees') is a forest lying at the base of Mt Fuji. Associated with demons in folklore and high suicide rates in modern times (indeed it is second only to the Golden Gate bridge as a suicide destination), the forest is eerily quiet due to the density of the trees blocking wind and a lack of wildlife. Aside from the suicides which see an annual body search conducted by volunteers, the forest is notable for the twisted and seemingly unnatural shapes of the trees.
